Mike Cane was right. Watch this video of Chelsea Kane and other Dancing with the Stars contestants and answer honestly: Does this look and sound like a song people hated?
Around the same time as the grunge scene was forming, another band came together that is one of my favorites: Sky Cries Mary. They took their name from the Jimi Hendrix song “The Wind Cries Mary.”
The other day I read that one of my favorite artists, Brendan Perry, well known for Dead Can Dance as well as solo albums, signed with The End Records and will be touring in the US, Canada and Mexico starting at the end of May with Robin Guthrie, from the Cocteau Twins.
Oh, the awesomeness! TWO of my favorite artists!
Although both are based closer to me here in Europe, it’d be worth making the trip just to hear them together on tour. Dates below and some samples.
Here’s a webdoc I made on webdoc.com with some info about it:
Dr. Reynol Junco conducted a study at Lock Haven University, looking into the effects of using Twitter in education.
via Sarah Kessler
Four sections (70 students) were given assignments and discussions that incorporated Twitter, such as tweeting about their experiences on a job shadow day or commenting on class readings. Three sections (55 students) did the same assignments and had access to the same information, but didn’t use Twitter. In addition to showing more than twice the improvement in engagement than the control group, the students who used Twitter also achieved on average a .5 point increase in their overall GPA for the semester.
More proof that increased opportunities to support social cognition leads to increased engagement, effectiveness, and happiness. Twitter makes us smarter.
I am made greater by the sum of my connections, and so are my connections.
